In Vilnius these days there is a car with equipment installed on the roof that attracts the attention of passers-by - SĮ "Communication services" is testing an innovative e-control system that will help optimize parking control.
The CityScanner of the German company DCX Innovations is currently being tested in Vilnius. A car adapted for e-control is equipped with all the necessary equipment, which not only reads the license plates of cars and checks whether the toll payment has been made, but also generates notifications about the violation.
The control route can be selected both automatically and manually by the working controller. The car drives along the city streets with all the traffic and scans license plates. Cars are scanned twice when traveling on the same route. This allows you to avoid cars that have stopped for a short time to pick up or drop off passengers or unload goods.
The system currently being tested allows not only to check payments, but can collect and analyze other information useful for the city, such as the occupancy of parking spaces, car flows in the city, air pollution, etc. Such equipment would not only allow large-scale control of cars, but would also provide an opportunity to collect a lot of useful data needed for improving the city's infrastructure.
We want to ask you what you think of this decision?
