Almost half of the Lithuanian population lacks spaces for recreation or leisure in the residential area, revealed a representative survey of Lithuanian residents commissioned by the real estate management and development company "MG Valda".
"Inhabitants of big cities feel the greatest lack of green areas for recreation or leisure. Most of the population in the big cities still lives older than 1990. in construction apartments, which were not focused on green spaces or recreation areas during the design and construction. Today, the expectations and needs of buyers are changing: they begin to appreciate not only the interior of the apartment, but also what is outside of it. The buyer understands the value of the surrounding green zones and spaces and is ready to pay for it, and the developers to implement it," says Mantas Umbrasas, sales manager of MG Valdos.
The results of a representative survey of Lithuanians revealed that even 45 percent residents believe that there is a lack of leisure spaces for recreation or family in their residential area. A third of Lithuanians said that they wanted a terrace on the roof of the apartment building for leisure time for the family and the house community. Looking at the statistics of big cities, residents of Klaipėda (51%) and Vilnius (41%) would most like such spaces for their leisure time.
According to M. Umbras, today people understand that the inside of an apartment can be arranged, but green spaces or community facilities are not so easily equipped, so they pay a lot of attention to it when buying a home.
"Today's buyer tends to pay extra for additional fees and an apartment that meets all expectations, so original solutions are especially appreciated." For example, in the third phase of the Lighthouse settlement, we installed green terraces on the roofs of the apartment building for community gatherings, recreation or celebrations, which received exceptional attention," says M. Umbras.
In June, two of the highest green terraces in Lithuania were installed on the roofs of apartment buildings in the "Lighthouse" settlement. They are divided into three leisure areas: dining areas, where residents can enjoy grilled dishes and grow herbs, and green and recreational areas for socializing.
A representative survey of the Lithuanian population was conducted by the research company "Rait". 1010 Lithuanian residents throughout Lithuania were surveyed.
