The state-run Lithuanian Radio and Television Center (Telecentras) does not agree with the allegations of MG Valda, a real estate (NT) development company managed by the MG Baltic concern, regarding the contract for a plot of land in Vilnius.
"In the near future, we will present to the court and the public a reasoned explanation regarding the circumstances of the transaction, which, I believe, will not leave ambiguities regarding the correctness of the information provided by us," says Valdas Kaminskas, Telecentro's head of communication, in a comment sent to BNS.
This week, the Vilnius District Court began examining the complaint of "MG Valdos" to Telecentr regarding the invalidation of the contract. Tadas Vasiliauskas, the press representative of MG Valdos, told BNS that Telecentras is accused of providing incorrect confirmations and guarantees about the plot of land at the intersection of Žvērynas, Karoliniškii and Viršuliškii.
About 7,26 hectares of land with buildings from Telecentro for more than 6 million. EUR "MG valda" purchased in 2015. The company planned to develop a block of residential houses in the area at the intersection of Žvėryno, Karoliniškii and Viršuliškii.
Prosecutors appealed to the court regarding this transaction. Last September, the Court of Appeal annulled the part of the transaction that transferred the radio antennas located on the plot. After this court decision, Telecentras returned almost 250 to MG Valda. EUR, the real estate development company is now trying to recover the remaining amount of the transaction through the court.
Telecenter leases the plot of state land from the National Land Service (NŽT), which did not approve the transfer of the plot's lease rights to "MG Valda".
According to the prosecutors who defended the public interest, in the contract signed in 2015, Telecenter transferred non-existent radio antennas to MG Valda, therefore, the transaction aimed to achieve illegal goals, so that MG Valda would have the right to lease a much larger part of the state plot of land without an auction.
