The company "Acropolis Group" presented the design proposals of the multifunctional cultural, entertainment, business and shopping quarter "Akropolis Vingis" to the Vilnius Regional Architecture Council (VRAT). The design proposals of Akropolis Vingis, which is planned to be built in the Vilkpėdes microdistrict of Vilnius, have been prepared taking into account the recommendations submitted by VRAT for the pre-project proposals of Akropolis Vingis.
The pre-project proposals of "Akropolis Vingis" presented at the end of last year were positively evaluated by VRAT experts due to the innovativeness of the planned project, the division of volumes into a quarter structure and harmony with the neighboring districts of Vilkpėda and Naujamiestis. During the preparation of project proposals, the authors of the project were asked to detail and present in more detail both the movement of traffic inside the future block and the connections of the building complex with the outside, emphasizing attention to pedestrians and cyclists.
"We improved the project of the multi-functional cultural, entertainment, business and shopping quarter "Akropolis Vingis" taking into account the valuable comments of the members of the Council of Architects, we thank them for them. We believe that the improved project will be positively received by the residents of Vilnius and the guests of the city", comments Manfredas Dargužis, director of Akropolis Group.
The "Akropolis Vingis" project is even more open
Taking into account the recommendations of VRAT architects, the structure of the block building and the variety of purposes of the buildings planned in the territory were strengthened. "Akropolis Vingis" will not only be a shopping and entertainment center, but also a place to work or spend leisure time - offices and "co-living" spaces are planned in the quarter. The block of residential apartments "reVingis" that is already being built nearby will also inspire the quarter with life.
During the development of the project, the connection of the designed block with the Neris coast was also strengthened - accent stairs with terraces were designed on the future pedestrian path from Geležinii vilkos Street to the Neris River. It will be possible to take a breath while looking at Neris both from lower and higher terraces.
The focus is on transport solutions
When designing the quarter, a lot of attention was paid to the calculations of traffic flows, and the recommendations of VRAT regarding the organization of cyclists and pedestrian traffic were also taken into account. In the preparation and detailing of infrastructural and traffic management solutions, the goal is harmonious integration of the block into the surrounding area and convenience for both pedestrians and cyclists, as well as those arriving by public transport or cars. Project proposals for these infrastructural solutions will be presented additionally.
"In the post-pandemic period, the importance of living urban spaces increased - citizens used to spend a lot of time in outdoor spaces like never before. The new "Akropolis Vingis" is being created using the principles of open city blocks, which accommodate not only trade, but also office, leisure, entertainment and cultural functions," says architect Andrė Baldišiūtė of the architectural studio "Do Architects" designing "Akropolis Vingis".
In the part of the plot bordering MKČiurlionis Street, between the building complex and Vingis Park, a wide green promenade and bike paths are planned, which are planned to be connected to Gerojis viltises Street by a modern underpass under Geležinis vilkas Street. It is also planned to install a slow-traffic, downtown-type inner street in the area.
It is planned to install a 2500-seat concert hall, a conference center, a complex of cinema halls in the new block of buildings, a shopping area, restaurants and cafes, offices and rental housing (co-living) spaces will open their doors.
After receiving the conclusions of VRAT regarding the design proposals of the multifunctional "Acropolis Vingios" quarter, it is planned to present the project to the Vilnius City Municipality and the public.
