The first skyscraper of the capital on Geležinios Vilkos Street, near the shopping center "Panorama", should be demolished and a new one built in its place, according to real estate (NT) development companies "Males" Chairman of the Board Arvydas Avulis.
He told the portal lrt.lt that the building called "Pencil" no longer meets the needs of the market, its engineering systems are hopelessly outdated and worn out.
"We considered two options: either capital renovation or simply rebuilding. When we invited the author of the project, Audrias Ambras, we came to the conclusion that it would be simpler to demolish it and build a new one next to it," A. Avulis told the portal.
According to him, after receiving the building permit, the demolition work could begin next summer.
Gelezinio Vilko st. The 18-story building at 15A was the first modern skyscraper in Vilnius, it was completed in 2001. The building and the adjacent 0,33 ha plot are owned by Hanner's Prime Location Property Fund.
