Project proposals have been submitted, which envisage the reconstruction of the Žirmūnai gymnasium field. It is planned to reconstruct the stadium field and install lighting, and it is also planned to install mobile spectator stands with about 500 seats nearby. It is planned to install artificial grass on the field, and to prevent water from accumulating, a drainage system will be installed, and the entire sports field is planned to be fenced.
Facilities such as a basketball and gymnastics court, a beach volleyball court will also be installed or renovated. An additional 83 parking spaces will be installed in the area and the access road will be repaired.
Pedestrian and bicycle paths are planned to be installed next to the sports field with lighting. The area will be additionally planted.
The football field will be covered during the cold season.
"The tent dome will be installed over the football field in the course of two days during the cold season (between October and April). During the warm season, the elements of the dome are dismantled and stored on the territory of the sports field. The structure of the dome enables the protection of sports surfaces from the negative atmospheric effects of the environment, thus creating a suitable and safe environment for schoolchildren and the local community to play sports.“, - is written in the project proposals.
