Technology giant Stripe starts operations in Lithuania

Global payment platform Stripe - one of the fastest growing technology companies - officially starts operations in Lithuania today. This will allow online businesses to grow and expand globally and accept payments from anywhere in the world.

Stripe processes billions of dollars in payments annually for millions of businesses, from startups to giants like Google, Amazon, Uber and Shopify. Such Lithuanian companies as doodlevideo.io and PaperSurvey are already using Stripe to offer their goods and services around the world.

"Lithuania has a lot of entrepreneurial and technological talent, so we believe that Lithuanian companies can successfully expand globally," says Felix Huber, Head of Stripe's Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. "Stripe aims to enable more Lithuanian companies to export their creativity and ambitions to other countries."

Just a few clicks - and export

Starting today, Lithuanian companies can start accepting payments in more than 10 different currencies in just 130 minutes. For the first time, Stripe is giving businesses access to its global payments and treasury network. In addition to accepting payments, companies can use Stripe for accounting, invoicing, third-party payments, and optimizing their system for mobile payments. Stripe users also get access to mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Reduces the risk of online fraud

Along with the challenges of handling cross-currency payments, fraud is often one of the biggest barriers to growth for businesses looking to do business with customers around the world. Stripe uses a complex system of machine learning to ensure Lithuanian businesses and their customers protection from fraudulent financial transactions.

For new business models and traditional business

As more activities move online, a new wave of e-business companies is emerging, including online marketplaces, crowdfunding platforms, and subscription-based businesses. Stripe can equip Lithuanian software developers and entrepreneurs with the tools they need to become part of the next generation of Internet giants.

"We are more than happy with Stripe's payment system as we grow our business." "Stripe is fast and reliable, so we can focus all our attention on excellent customer service," said Denys Dovgal, head of doodlevideo.io, a platform offering 2D video animation creation services (whiteboard animation).

Stripe has helped us launch a subscription-based service and seamlessly receive money from customers around the world. By entrusting the subscription to Stripe, we can concentrate on our core business and not on the details of payments," says Laurynas Sakalauskas, founder of PaperSurvey, about the Stripe service. This company offers an automated system for scanning the results of paper surveys to subscribers worldwide.

There are no setup fees, monthly fees, or hidden fees in Stripe's pricing. The price of the service in Lithuania is from 1,4% + 0.25 EUR for a successful settlement.
