National Stadium The real estate (RT) development company "Males" Chairman of the Board Arvydas Avulis says that with the investment company "BaltCap", in order to take over the shares of the project concessionaire, an agreement has already been reached on many issues.
"The main thing is the contract with BaltCap. We have agreed on many issues with them. There are still a couple of issues that are not fully agreed," he told BNS Plius.
According to A. Avulis, an agreement with the contractor "Naresta", which previously started building the stadium, on the resumption of work is expected to be reached next week.
"I see light at the end of the tunnel and today (Tuesday – BNS) after negotiations I think we can reach that agreement. I hope that maybe next week there will be better news," said the head of Hanner.
According to him, the aim is to reach an agreement with the construction company regarding the development of one part of the national stadium, while negotiations are underway with three other companies regarding the other part of the project.
"We are only talking to Naresta about the construction of the main stadium and two football training fields," said A. Avulis.
According to the Hanner manager, it will be easier to reach an agreement with companies on the development of the second part of the project.
"We now have more opportunities to agree on the second part, because we are talking to three companies there. As for the National Stadium itself and the two training grounds, we only have one "Narest" for now. And that's why negotiations, when we are negotiating with only one contractor, are not very simple," he told BNS Plius.
"They ("Naresta" - BNS) are participating in the Rūdninkai (semi-excavation site - BNS) competition, there are much higher prices there, much greater opportunities to make money, while here everything is compressed into a framework, here, apart from honor and dignity, there is nothing left," added A. Avulis.
He said he is not losing hope that construction on the stadium will resume at the end of June.
"We have two more weeks and we will make every effort to ensure that there is not an empty field there in the last days of June," said the head of Hanner.
Previously, the head of the construction company Naresta, Tadas Grincevičius, told BNS that the company is ready to return to the construction of the national stadium in Vilnius, but the current price offered is too low.
BNS wrote that at the end of May, the European Commission (EC) finally approved the construction of the national stadium. construction in Vilnius amendments to the concession agreement – it provides for the provision of state aid to the project.
For his part, Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas stated that the Government will decide on the state contribution to the national stadium project in Vilnius after a conversation with the Mayor of Vilnius and after clarifying the deadlines and possibilities for implementing the project.
Last August, the Vilnius City Council approved changes to the complex's concession agreement - after changing the risk sharing, the project will cost the municipality and the state about 155,1 million euros.
Vilnius Municipality and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports signed a 2021-year concession agreement with the company "Vilnius Multipurpose Complex" in October 25, and construction began in the fall of 2023 by the company "Naresta". They are currently suspended.
