In September, the most favorable prices for consumer goods were recorded in retail chains "Lidl"And"Maxima", and the largest - "Norfa". Such results were revealed by a study conducted by mystery shopper and market research company SeeNext. The price of the selected shopping basket differed by a few euros in these retail chains.
Comparing the average prices of the baskets of goods purchased during the investigation revealed that it was over 35 euros at Lidl and Maxima, while at Iki andRimiexceeded 37 euros, and in Norfa stores it almost reached an average of 39 euros.
September 3 during the conducted investigation, secret shoppers visited Vilnius and Kaunas stores of the country's five largest retail chains - "Iki", "Lidl", "Maxima XX", "Norfa XL" and "Rimi Hyper". A basket of 25 cheapest consumer goods was selected for shopping. It consisted of products selected from different food categories: dairy, meat, cereal, grocery, fruit, vegetables and beverages.
A study conducted in September shows that dairy products cost the cheapest in the Lidl retail chain - 7,06 euros, and the most expensive in the Norfa retail chain - 8,55 euros. The price difference between them is 1,50 euros.
The lowest price of meat products is 7,13 euros in the Lidl retail chain. The higher price of meat products stood out the most for the basket of goods in the "Iki" shopping chain, where it reached 7,46 euros. The difference between the highest and the lowest price was 0,33 euros.
Cereal products cost the cheapest in the "Maxima" retail chain - 3,18 euros, and the most expensive in the "Iki" retail chain, where the price of this product group is recorded at 3,51 euros. The difference between the highest and the lowest price is 0,33 euros.
The lowest price of fruits and vegetables was recorded in the "Norfa" retail chain - 3,02 euros, and the highest - in the "Iki" and "Lidl" retail chains - 3,27 euros. The difference between the highest and lowest price is 0,25 euros.
The price of drinks is the lowest in the "Iki" and "Lidl" retail chains - 8,52 euros. The highest price of this product category was found in the "Rimi" shopping network - 10,04 euros. The difference between the highest and lowest price is 1,52 euros.
The lowest price of the rest of the products in the basket - dark chocolate, white sugar, eggs, sunflower oil, chicken eggs and ground coffee - was recorded in the "Lidl" retail chain - 5,96 euros, and the highest price was observed in the "Norfa" retail chain - 8,25 euros. The difference between the highest and the lowest price is 2,29 euros.
