The Japanese corporation Roland DG, the world leader in the digital printing industry, and the inventor and developer of new technologies, Dr. The team assembled and led by Aleksei Etins in Lithuania established a joint venture "DG Dimense" in Vilnius on October 6. The joint capital company of Lithuania and Japan will continue to develop DIMENSE™ wide-format digital printing technology, which is currently considered the most advanced.
"We are combining the competences and business capabilities of the Lithuanian and Japanese teams to further develop the unique Dimense™ technology created in Lithuania." This digital printing technology, which has received a lot of attention at international exhibitions, enables the implementation of wide-format 3D printing. It is perfectly suited for interior decoration, window dressing, painting and other areas and, in addition to all this, creates an additional decorative effect. "Partnership with Roland DG Corporation opens up new, unprecedented opportunities for developing technologies and creating additional values for partners, customers and suppliers", says the CEO of DG Dimense, Dr. Aleksejus Etins, who has accumulated many years of experience with the company "Veika", a manufacturer and seller of raw materials for the wallpaper industry and products related to digital printing.
According to the manager, the joint venture is the result of a long and successful cooperation with Roland DG Corporation. The Japanese company is the world's leading provider of digital printing solutions. According to the contract, Roland DG will own a controlling (50,1%) stake in the company DG Dimense, so the company operating in Lithuania will be part of the Japanese corporation. About 50 people already work in the newly established company, most of the employees are from Lithuania.
"I got to know DIMENSE™ digital printing technology for the first time in 2019. During that time, I got the impression that this is a unique and innovative wide-format relief printing technology, a game-changer with enormous potential in the market, in line with our mission to open up new opportunities for society through digital technology. At the same time, it is an important step towards our goal of empowering creativity and creating excitement around the world," says Kohei Tanabe, President of Roland DG Corporation and Director of Customer Relationship Management.
When establishing the company, the partners agreed that the goal of the joint venture would be to further develop sustainable technologies for the wallpaper and digital printing industries. The main focus will continue to be on DIMENSE™ and Ecodeco™ technologies, using Lithuanian ink and media production experience and Roland DG printer development knowledge. Both companies have been business partners since 2015. DG Dimense partners are determined to further enter the international market and expand the sales geography.
DIMENSE™ technology was presented for the first time at the international exhibition DRUPA in 2016. The prestigious event held every four years presents the most important novelties and innovations of the digital printing industry. DIMENSE™ is the first digital printing technology from Lithuania that was granted the right to be presented at the DRUPA exhibition.
In 2018, the technology won the EDP award, a prestigious recognition from experts in the field of digital printing, publishing and packaging industry. The awards commission emphasized that the Lithuanian company has developed a completely new technology that implements digital and relief printing solutions at the same time.
Using the technology that opens up the possibilities of unique structure printing, even concrete with a personalized relief can be easily produced, and tests are also carried out with glass and metal products. A significant advantage of the technology is that it uses environmentally friendly inks for printing, and the Ecodeco™ Solar Impulse Foundation has awarded a certificate of sustainable technology to the print base.
When concluding the transaction, the legal advisors of the Veika company were the Glimstedt law firm, the financial advisors were Oaklins, the legal advisors of Roland DG were the Sorainen law firm, and the financial advisors were KPMG.
