Mobile wallet "MoQ" developed by the three largest mobile operators in Lithuania says goodbye to the "Beta" version and presents an app with new functions. In addition, after receiving a millionth injection from communication operators, "MoQ" is implementing additional functionalities and 300 trading points are starting a refund program - €1-3 will be returned to users' MoQ accounts for purchases made through the app.
"The five-month Beta has shown that more and more people are embracing smart billing as another way to 'employ' their phone." For businesses, customer payments by phone have also become a new experience. Every third receipt or bill with the app is paid not with personal money, but with funds deposited into the operator's account, which are later covered together with the operator's account," says Monika Rimkūnaitė-Bložė, head of Mobilieji mokejimai UAB.
After saying goodbye to the Beta version, the developers of MoQ are moving on to a new phase of development. MoQ enters the next stage of development stronger with automatic account top-up and account splitting between friends. A cashback program for using the app also starts today.
"Today we are starting a phase of intensive MoQ development that will take the app's evolution to the next level." In order to encourage users, we will refund 1-3 EUR to the account of the user who paid for lunch in the city, food in the supermarket, clothes, bills for communication or utility services with the app within two days. We plan that this step will increase the number of users from the current 40 thousand. up to 100 thousand will expand in about a couple of months. ”, says the manager of Mobilieji mokejimai UAB.

In total, hundreds of thousands of in-app purchases are planned to be refunded, and the specific number depends on the intensity of payments. "MoQ" will return money to the account for payments with the app in cafes and restaurants in Vilnius in the old town, in stores "Rimi", "Aprangas galerija", "Pegasas" and "Vaga" bookstores, as well as in all "Pigu.lt" stores - a total of approximately 300 places. A full list of partner networks is available found here.
"We strive to ensure the most convenient shopping experience for our customers. Therefore, we constantly invest in the quality of the service, its mobile version. We observe the trend that the store and the wallet are gradually moving to the mobile phone, and the growing number of payments with MoQ confirms this," says Giedrė Vilkė, marketing manager of Pigu.lt.
EUR 1-3 is the minimum amount of shopping that can be returned to the account. For example, when paying with "MoQ" in cafes and restaurants, 1,5 EUR will be returned in two days when paying a bill of at least 4 EUR.
1/3 operator's funds are used for payments
Within five months of MoQ's existence, the ranks of mobile wallet users have reached 40, with many more having downloaded the app. The number of telephone payments increases by almost 30% every month. The number of mobile payments in online stores and self-service websites doubled in January. Almost a third of phone payments use the deferred payment limit provided by the communication operator, the amount of which is later added to the operator's account. About two-thirds of all customers have deferred payment in the app.
"The evolution of the app is only gaining momentum. In the coming months, we will announce payment with the app in companies with a wide payment network, and we will also introduce new functionalities - the ability to leave tips with the app, place loyalty cards in the app. "MoQ is becoming more than just a means of settlement", - the head of Mobilieji mokejimai UAB shares her future plans.
Payments by phone with the app are accepted by Rimi stores, Viada gas station chain, Caffeine, Hurracan, Caif Cafe chain, mobile operators, cafes, restaurants, sports clubs and other places that can be mapped found here - a total of more than 1000 physical payment points and over 95% of Lithuanian online stores and self-service websites (manogile.lt, vienasaskaita.lt, etc.).
