High-tech group BOD Group announced plans to develop large-scale solar power projects and develop autonomous electricity storage systems. For this, it is establishing two new companies, SoliTek Development and SoliTek Energy.
In addition, at the beginning of next year, the group will start the construction of a new innovation center next to its building in Vilnius, on Loksininkai street, in which they will invest up to 18 million. euros. It will focus all the innovation and research potential of the group, and an incubator for energy startups will be established.
"2021 will be a year of vigorous growth for the group. (…) We have all the necessary prerequisites to take a big step forward - into the segments of industrial solar parks and electricity production and storage," said Nerijus Pachesa, head of BOD Group and member of the board, in a statement.
Julius Sakalauskas, manager of SoliTek Cells, who is responsible for SoliTek's business development, says that it is planned to create all types of accumulators, primarily infrastructural and intended for household electricity storage systems.
Currently, the group manages the solar technology research company "SoliTek R&D", the production company "SoliTek Cells" and the installation company "SoliTekas LT".
The total turnover of SoliTek companies grew by 5 percent this year. up to 12,1 million euros, and in Lithuania alone - 20 percent. The company exports most of it to Scandinavian and Benelux countries.
In 2021, BOD Group plans to grow its solar technology business by 15-20 percent.
