Changes in the take-home order market - UAB "Maistas į namus", a company belonging to the international "Takeout Group" group, which manages the platform lēkštė.lt, acquired the portal maisasinamus.lt. The transaction amount is not disclosed. Acquiring a competitor will allow us to offer a wider range of restaurants and strengthen our constantly growing positions.
"Within 4 years, we bought back the project and made a profit, so the exit seems logical," says Edgaras Dadašovas, the manager of the company managing the portal maisasinamus.lt, which has been operating on the market since 2013. "Company acquisitions in such a relatively small market are a natural process, a larger market share allows shareholders to confidently pursue their goals. Such a transaction with Lēkštė.lt will allow us to strengthen our already strong position in the market, and allow us to concentrate on other projects in the American and Asian markets."
In 4 years, lēkštė.lt grew by 35% every year, and this year it is planned to serve at least 170 customers. The platform belongs to the Takeout Group, which has been operating for 000 years, and the network covers 14 markets in Europe and Africa. The annual value of the group's orders exceeds 7 million. euros.
"We were the first in Lithuania to pass this business and change people's habits. If before people ordered food mostly by calling a specific restaurant by phone, since 2012 we have offered a centralized platform for food orders," says Tomas Vonžodas, manager of UAB "Maistas į namus" managing the lēkštė.lt portal. "This transaction will ensure an even larger market share and expand operations. Consolidation of costs will have clear benefits for consumers - even more good restaurants on the portal, faster food delivery and lower delivery costs.''
Lēkštė.lt together with investors in 2017 will start operations in Riga at the end of 2018, and plans to start business in Budapest, Hungary and Sofia, Bulgaria.
