The largest Lithuanian retail chain "Maxima" joins the campaign of "Užstatus systemas administratos" "Change containers to straws", which encourages residents to contribute to the preservation of the ancient forests of Lithuania. The money for the containers returned to the containers of the supermarket chain can be donated to the "Sengirės fund", just one single-use package will save 1000 cm2 old forest
"Inhabitants use the disposable packaging deposit system more and more every year, and use the recovered money for their daily shopping. Until now, there was no donation function in the "Maxima" taromats, so we are happy that by joining the initiative of our partners "Change the container to trash", we will give our customers the opportunity to donate the money received for the containers returned to the taromats to an important goal for the whole of Lithuania - the preservation of the country's old forests", he says. Just one pack for a significant change
From November 14 during the ongoing campaign, when returning the container to the outlets of the "Maxima" shopping chain, residents will be able to donate the entire amount of the received deposit to the non-governmental organization "Sengirės fondas". Its goal is to preserve the old forests of Lithuania with all life in them and to create long-lasting, sustainable examples of nature - old, open for people to visit.
"During the campaign "Change containers to trash", the "Sengirė fundas" will save 1000 cm for each unit of containers returned to containers2 old forest, 10 units - even 1m2 old women", says I. Trakimaitė-Šeškuvienė.
According to I. Trakimaitė-Šeškuviene, it will be possible to donate to the "Sengirė Fund" very simply - after returning the packages, the returned amount and boxes with two options appear on the taromat screen: "Donate" and "Payment". After selecting the "Donate" box, you press the "Confirm" icon, and your support to the "Sengirė Fund" will be ensured by a fiscal receipt, which will indicate the amount donated.
According to the representative of "Maxima", at the moment, donations can only be made to the "Sengirės Fund" at the vending machines of the shopping chain.
According to the "Administrator of the Deposit System", last year Lithuanian residents collected and returned a record number of beverage deposit packages - over 672 million. units. On average, there were approximately 240 returned packages per inhabitant of the country.
