October 5 exhibition and congress centerLitexpo", the 23rd international exhibition "Furniture" which will last four days has started. This year, the largest exhibition of furniture and interior solutions in the Baltic region focuses on interactive activities, establishing business contacts, not only large furniture manufacturers, but also designers present themselves here.
"For more than two decades, we have been bringing to one place everyone who cares not only about home comfort, functionality and coziness, but also about conceptual design ideas, export and trade geography development opportunities. With the motto of this year's exhibition "There is no home...without furniture", we wanted to draw attention to the fact that we get used to a comfortable, stylish and functional home environment very quickly, we take it for granted, but it is always worth thinking about what could be changed, how to renew ", - says Lilijana Dirsienė, the project manager of Litexpo, about the exhibition that has started.
From the restoration workshop to the Furniture Factory
This year, for the first time at the exhibition, visitors will be able to try the work of a restorer - a furniture restoration workshop is operating in the exhibition and congress center "Litexpo", where there are expositions of the application of ancient, antique furniture in a modern, modern interior. Also, professional restorers advise on how to determine the true value of old furniture and successfully invest in antique furniture.
The Furniture Factory, which is popular with visitors, will also be operating here for four days, providing a unique opportunity to see the production process of cased kitchen furniture from the project to the final product - kitchen furniture.
Visitors will be able to view non-traditional solutions for the application of secondary design at home, as well as new conceptual works by both experienced and young Lithuanian designers.
In a special exhibition for professional architects and interior designers, Archzona will present 26 companies that will demonstrate the latest finishing, lighting, furniture, doors, facades, floors, ceilings, plumbing, wall decor products and services.
Opportunities to discover new export markets
One of the most important highlights of the exhibition is the conference "Export opportunities for the Lithuanian furniture sector" organized together with "Verslia Lietuva". Event intended for the establishment of business contacts, exchange of useful information, assimilation of new knowledge and promotion of export opportunities of the Lithuanian furniture industry.
Although the export markets of the Lithuanian furniture industry, which have been established for many years, do not change and most Lithuanian furniture is exported to Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, the volume of exports continues to increase, and the geography is expanding more and more rapidly.
The chief analyst of Verslias Lietuvos, which prepared the overview of the furniture sector, Vadimas Ivanovas also claims that the geography of furniture exports is expanding.
"70 percent the income of the country's furniture sector is earned in export markets. Sweden, United Kingdom and Germany in 2016 were the three largest export markets for the Lithuanian furniture manufacturing sector. True, in 2017 positive trends have already been observed, which signal the beginning of a more intensive diversification of export markets," says the analyst.
According to him, the export of furniture grew much faster to non-EU markets.
"For example, in 2017 In the II quarter, furniture exports to JAV the market increased by almost 31 percent during the year. And, of course, a positive trend is that export growth in 2017 is conditioned by the growth of export volumes, not prices", V. Ivanovas is convinced.
October 5-8 more than 100 companies from Lithuania, Austria, China, Latvia, Poland, Turkey, Germany, Ukraine participate in the exhibition. The highlight of this year's exhibition is the enhancement of competences of Lithuanian furniture sector companies in the field of export.
