One of the largest retail companies in Lithuania "Maxima LT" near Lentvaris, on the Vilnius-Trakui road, plans to start construction of a logistics center next year.
Ernesta Dapkienė, director of Maximos' Communication and Image Department, says that the company intends to modernize the logistics chain.
"The new logistics center will have a temperature warehouse where fresh food will be stored, such as meat, fruits and vegetables, milk, culinary products made by our masters, flowers, so that the products maintain their quality and freshness as long as possible," E. Dapkienė told BNS.
According to her, the warehouse will serve the entire Maxima LT network.
"It is expected that it will occupy about 43 thousand sq. meters, and administrative premises - about 3 thousand. sq. meters," she said.
E. Dapkienė has not yet disclosed the investments in the project to BNS: "Currently, the possible investments are still being calculated, as their size will also depend on the selected equipment."
In the design proposals prepared by the company "Kita kryptis" on the order of the company "Later" managed by "Maxima LT", it is indicated that the plot on Zigmantiškių str. 1 is intended to build 1-2 floors 46 thousand. sq. meter building with a 230-space parking lot.
According to E. Dapkienė, the construction of the building is planned to start in 2022.
"Verslo žinios" wrote a year ago that "Maxima" is considering building a new temperature warehouse. Last September, the total area of its warehouses reached more than 100 square meters. sq. meters - the company had six warehouses in different parts of Vilnius. It also uses partners' logistics centers in Vilnius and Beautiful.
According to the real estate register, "Later" has been managing the plot on Zigmantiškių street since December 2010.
