"It is not yet clear to us whether the defects were caused by natural phenomena or by faulty construction calculations," says Vilnius city municipalities Tauras Varenbergas, head of the sub-department for supervision of the use of structures. According to him, it will be possible to open the building only after removing all the defects.
"The Kaunas company Ekspertika, which is conducting an expert examination on behalf of Rimi Lietuva, should provide conclusions regarding the condition of the building and the reasons for the appearance of defects in the near future. The head of "BM būsta" Igoris Leontjevs hopes that by the middle of September it will be possible to complete all the works named by the experts and hand over the building to the lessor, the retail company "Rimi Lietuva".
