On October 1, a unique employment space - "Senioru avilys" - opened its doors in Northern Town (J. Kubiliaus St. 2) in Vilnius. This is Vilnius city municipalities a project is initiated, one of the sponsors of which is SEB bank, which has equipped a computer class for seniors.
In this class, various lecturers will conduct computer literacy lectures and practical seminars for seniors, and SEB bank volunteers will teach seniors individually or in groups how to safely use the internet bank and perform daily banking transactions independently.
"This is a socially responsible project in which SEB bankas participates in order to contribute more actively to the development of financial literacy in our society as a whole. We pay a lot of attention to the financial literacy of Lithuanian schoolchildren and young people, we teach older customers in the branches to independently carry out cash or other daily banking operations, and now we will invite them to meet in the "Seniors' Hive" as well, says Vaidas Žagūnis, a member of the Board of SEB banka, head of the Retail Banking Service.
The employment space for older residents was established in the former building of the Labor Exchange. The initiators of the project promise that in the "Seniors' Hive" it will be possible to do sports, learn languages, computer literacy, entrepreneurship, arts, join clubs, participate in mind battles, play board games, etc.
The first trainings in the SEB class are planned for beginning computer users. The training will start next week. In the computer classroom, nine people will be able to learn and work at the same time - as many computerized workplaces are equipped.
