In Šnipiškės, in the area bounded by Linkmenų and Žalgiris streets, the sustainable urban development company "YIT Lithuania" is starting work on the XNUMXst stage of the urban project "New Skansen", which promises the revival of this part of the capital. During his time, the modern apartment buildings that will be built on the territory were designed by the team of the "JP Architektūra" studio led by architect Algirdas Kaušpėdas.

During the first phase of construction, two 6-storey buildings will be built at Linkmenų street apartment buildings, which will be equipped with 1-4 rooms 31-100 sq.m. m apartments. The residents of the upper floors will have a picturesque view of the Vilnius financial center Constitution Avenue and Šeškinė forests panorama. The first floors will be equipped with rooms for various service providers.

It is planned to complete the work on the first stage of the development of "Naujasis Skansenas" by May 2021, and to implement the entire project by the end of 2025.

"When designing the New Skansen house, we realized an old dream of interweaving the community's public and private spaces into a seamless urban fabric. In the project, we were also guided by the three most relevant principles of urban development - communality, greenery and a healthy city. Each of them acquired a specific expression in their project. It is an alley crossing the community space with bicycle paths, green areas in yards, sports paths and equipment for active leisure time", says A. Kaušpėdas, head of the architectural studio "JP Architektūra".

According to the architect, the architectural solutions of the quarter were planned taking into account the area's proximity to the city center and attractive pedestrian routes to it. As a result, great attention is paid to the comfort of those traveling by bicycle or on foot. For example, bicycle storage facilities installed in apartment buildings will be directly accessible both from residential buildings and from the alley crossing the block.

According to A. Kaušpėdas, the abundance of sports and recreational spaces around the block creates excellent conditions for active living and provides opportunities for lovers of various sports to actively spend their free time. In order to highlight these possibilities even more, a 400-meter-long running track was chosen as one of the main highlights of the "New Skansen" quarter. It will encourage residents to exercise, communicate and move. The running track will connect all the houses in the block, helping to form a strong community and its identity.

Newly built A + energy efficiency class houses will offer both smaller one-room apartments and spacious apartments with terraces and loggias. The apartments will be equipped with underfloor heating, and smart home solutions will be installed (smart control tablets will be used to regulate the ventilation and heating of each room in the apartment). There will be no shortage of daylight, as there are floor-to-ceiling windows.

The head of YIT Lietuva company Kęstutis Vanagas says that the part of the capital, where new houses are being built, has every chance of becoming one of the most attractive districts of Vilnius to live and work, and the projects implemented here by some of the most famous and best architects in the country will only increase the attractiveness of this place even more. In total, over the next few years, "YIT Lietuva" plans to renovate and revitalize an area of 4 hectares near Linkmenų and Žalgiris streets.

"The new city center is taking shape in Šnipiškės, and the development of the "New Skansen" quarter will give a new boost to these processes. The multi-functional quarter, developed according to the principles of sustainable development, will bring more life and diversity to the district, which will make it more interesting and convenient to live and work there. For those who value the advantages of modern life in the city, mobility and opportunities for active leisure time, this is a really attractive choice - especially bearing in mind that there are fewer and fewer places in Vilnius that provide such conditions for the implementation of new housing projects", says K. Vanagas.

In addition to apartment buildings, two new business centers will also be built here. As many as three teams of architects were entrusted with the design of the huge multifunctional block. In addition to A. Kaušpėda's studio, the living spaces in the block were also designed by architect Vytautas Biekša from Processoffice. The author of the business centers that will be built in the area is Algimantas Pliučas, the architect of "Vilnius Architecture Studio".

A comfortable 102 seats will be installed next to the house parking lot, as well as places for bicycles, a charging station for electric cars. Residents of the upper floors will enjoy a picturesque panorama of the Vilnius financial center's Konstitucijos avenue and Šeškinė forests. The first floors will be equipped with facilities for various service providers. It is estimated that more than 2 thousand people will settle in the new quarter. population.

YIT Lietuva, a company belonging to the Finnish concern YIT, is currently implementing the urban planning project of Piliamiestis Beautiful, "Raitininkų sodo" and "Matau Vilnių" projects in the capital, etc.
