Old buildings will be demolished in Žirmūnai: new apartment buildings will replace them

Vilnius city municipalities in the premises, during the public meeting, the latest project proposals will be discussed, where a new one is presented apartment building house with commercial premises. The commercial building currently on the site would be demolished, most of the surface parking lot would be destroyed, and more new greenery would be installed.

"A multi-apartment residential building with commercial premises and an underground garage is being designed on the plot. The above-ground part of the apartment building will be divided into two buildings. The buildings of the above-ground part will be placed closer to Žirmūnai Street on the plot, so an inner courtyard will be formed (a private space for the residents of the apartment building). In the eastern part of the plot, a semi-private public space and parking lots are planned. Access to the commercial premises is planned from Žirmūnai Street and from the northern part of the plot. For the residents of the apartment building, entrances to the buildings are provided from the inner yard. In this way, the flows of residents and commercial premises are separated. In the courtyard, there is a children's playground, active and passive leisure areas. Pedestrian paths, outdoor terraces of apartments are planned in the remaining part of the inner yard, the plot will be abundantly greened," the project proposals say about the future project.

Vilnius city municipality also informs that the projects presented for public consultation have not yet received the approval of the municipality - specialists make decisions after evaluating not only project solutions, but also public comments.
