"Automated distribution of parcels and correspondence is a strategic project of Lithuanian Post - it must be implemented in order to survive and grow in the highly competitive postal services market. The construction of the new logistics center is another step towards achieving this strategic goal", says Lithuanian Post General Director Asta Sungailienė.
"We appreciate the project entrusted to us. Also, we are always particularly happy to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly new generation buildings in our country", says Lukas Laukaitis, director of the Conresta company.
The currently operating Lithuanian Post Vilnius logistics center is located in rented premises, the new one will be built near the Vilnius International Airport. According to A. Sungailienė, this is a strategically important place for the efficiency of postal services, because with the rapid growth of the volume of international parcels, it is necessary to carry out the activities closest to the way of transporting parcels - the airport - thereby shortening the logistics chain as much as possible.
The new A+ energy class Vilnius distribution center will allow employees to create comfortable working conditions, it is planned to install special rest rooms and green areas, a large and spacious parking lot. In the long-term modernization strategy of the post office, environmental issues have also been taken into account - in order to ensure renewable energy, it is planned to install a solar power plant and charging points for electric cars.
