The planned multi-purpose cultural, entertainment, business and shopping quarter in the Vilkpėdė district of the city of VilniusAcropolis Vingis" approved the project proposals, which were presented to the public in July Vilnius city municipality. The construction of the new quarter is expected to start no earlier than 2023. in the second half - it is planned that it will take that much time to prepare a detailed technical project, environmental impact assessment and obtain a construction permit.
During the conversion project "Akropolis Vingis" developed by "Akropolis Group", a modern multifunctional quarter will be built on the territory of the former factory, which will contribute to the revitalization of the Vilkpėdė microdistrict planned by the municipality, and a higher quality of life in the southern part of the city. At the request of the developer, the preparation of the technical project of the quarter will begin this year, and these works will be performed by the architecture studio "Do Architects" in accordance with the previously signed cooperation agreement. It is planned that the design work will take about a year until the construction permit is obtained. During the preparation of the detailed technical project, environmental, transport, sustainable development specialists and representatives of the city municipality will be consulted.
It is expected that after the start of the construction of "Akropolis Vingis", in order to achieve smoother traffic organization and greater throughput, the city's transportation infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists and cars will be reconstructed at the expense of the developer. According to the legal acts, the permission for the operation of the new complex can be issued only after the implementation of these infrastructure improvement projects, the detailed design solutions of which will be approved by the Vilnius City Municipality before the start of the works.
By Vilnius city municipalities approved project solutions, a new multi-functional district "Akropolis Vingis" should emerge in the former industrial area with shopping and entertainment areas, internal streets, a concert hall, a conference center, office and apartment buildings for long-term residential rental, a food hall, recreation areas and underground parking lots . The total area of the premises for retail trade, services and leisure will occupy about 100 square meters. sq. meters. The universal concert hall designed in the complex will have 2500 seats or up to 4000 standing places. The area of 7 office buildings located above the shopping center will reach about 100 square meters. sq. m. It is planned to build about 450 apartments for long-term residential rental.
The "Akropolis Vingis" complex has 4500 parking spaces. The parking lot will be open not only to visitors and employees of the quarter, but also to all residents of Vilnius and guests of the city. In the territory of the complex, it is planned to install leisure and green spaces under the open sky - a pedestrian park and bicycle lanes.
Akropolis Group will draw on similar experience for this conversion project in Latvia. The "Akropole Riga" complex opened in Riga in 2019 was built on the site of the Kuznetsov porcelain factory, after incorporating the historical heritage of the former factory into the interior of the shopping center.
