Design proposals for a new commercial building on Pilaitės avenue have been presented to the Vilnius city municipality. New "Maxima"the store would be located near another store of the same chain, and the distance between them would reach a little more than 700 meters. The solutions for the commercial building will be discussed with the public at the public meeting.
The plot on which the Maxima store would be built is bordered on the south side by Pilaitės avenue, planned Karaliaučius (west side) and Valtarkiemios streets (east side), on the north side by the plot M.Mažvydo st. 28, where the construction apartment buildings home The design proposals also indicate that according to the agreement of the builder "Minera", the surface parking spaces on the north side are planned for M.Mažvydo st. for the needs of 28 apartment buildings.
"The projected building is oriented towards Pilaitė Avenue with its long facade. Between the building and Pilaitė Ave. a green public space with elements of small architecture, greenery is planned for the sidewalk, to improve the visual aesthetics of the building (shopping center) along Valtarkiemios st. and the corner of the building on Pilaitė avenue, storefronts and access to the commercial building are planned. A total of two entrances to the building are planned: from Pilaitė Ave. and from the inner part of the plot - planned parking lots. Karalaučius st. and Pilaitė avenue intersection zone is planned for "Outdoor trade" or other, additional functions zone. An outdoor terrace, a canopy (pergola), small architectural elements, additional landscaping highlighting and emphasizing the intersection's spatial and functional emphasis, the volume of the building will be accentuated by the height difference, decorative elements of facades and lighting are planned in this place. In the northern part of the plot, a pedestrian passage, green areas, and parking are planned," the design proposals say about the future building.
It is also planned to install 139,50m in the basement2 a shelter that could accommodate 93 people.
