A new stadium meeting international standards will be presented to the Lithuanian football community this year. The construction permit for the football complex to be built in the Lazdynai district of Vilnius has already been obtained, the works will start as soon as the snow melts.
The real estate development company became the main investors of the stadium being built on the initiative of Vilnius Football Academy.Males" and Darvydas Šern. The total investment in the project will reach about 2,5 million. euros.
"A modern football stadium for young football players was one of my dreams. I thank the Hanner company, which believed in us and willingly contributed to the development of Lithuanian football. I hope that this project will become the beginning of our long-term cooperation", says Darvydas Šernas, the initiator of the new stadium and the head of Vilnius Football Academy.
According to him, the stadium that received the name "Hanner-VFA" will become the official home of "Vilnius Football Academy", where trainings, competitions, tournaments and other football communities will be organized throughout the year. events. Other children's football academies, professional clubs and others will be able to use the stadium.
"Being around talented people and helping them grow and develop is part of Hanner's mission. Therefore, we decided to contribute to the fulfillment of D. Šern's meaningful idea, so that the country's young talents would have a space that meets international standards this year. We hope that the young athletes who grew up in this sports complex will contribute to the achievements and improvement of the image of Lithuanian football", says the chairman of the board of "Hanner" Arvydas Avulis.
The new football stadium will be equipped with an artificial surface, and the stands for 300 spectators will be covered with a roof. A new modular building will be erected next to it, which will be equipped with changing rooms, showers, a gym, and administrative rooms. It is also planned to build a modular building that will house a cafe.
During the works, stadium lighting will be installed, convenient access and parking spaces will be provided. According to D. Šern, the stadium's infrastructure, lighting, covering, stands will meet the highest standards and, if necessary, it will be possible to organize international competitions there. All installation works are expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
The creator of the idea, D. Šernas, played football professionally for 20 years, represented the Lithuanian national team for 10 years, in 2010 was chosen as the best Lithuanian football player.
"In Lithuania, both the football situation and the infrastructure needed for the sport are not the best, so as soon as I finished my career as a professional football player, I had a dream to build a football stadium for children and the academy", recalls the athlete.
He is happy that "Vilnius Football Academy" will become the first football academy in Lithuania, which will have its own football base - a field, administrative premises, a training hall and all the necessary infrastructure.
