On May 24, in Vilnius, Arvydas Tyla, Director of Strateginės infrastrukturės of Litgrid AB, and Vytautas Tauras, Acting Director of the Finance Department, and Lukas Laukaitis, Director of Conresta UAB, signed the contract.
By the end of 2019, Litgrid will establish a new 10,183 million Euro (excluding VAT) value of the System Management and Data Security Center. Investments in it will be financed by the company's funds.
In September 2015, the Government recognized this project as an important economic project for the state. According to the Ministry of Energy, the center would ensure more stable and safer operation of the country's energy system and management of transmission flows. After synchronization, the frequency of the electrical system will be controlled from this center, and the necessary physical and cyber security of the system control center will be ensured.
The construction of the new center (building) will ensure adequate perimeter protection, room segmentation, a necessary mandatory return function will be installed, ensuring an electronic access control system, a vehicle inspection point, high-reliability mechanical barriers, duplicated optical fiber and other safety measures. System management and data centers will also be installed in the new building, and suitable working conditions will be created for employees of system management and other administrative departments.
