Last year we wrote about the halted construction of the new headquarters of the Bank of Lithuania. Žirmūnai implementation of the project. The reason is simple – the project prepared by Cloud Architects was really ambitious and the initial amount of 23 million euros for construction planned by the Bank of Lithuania was too small, while the amounts proposed by the contractors were much higher. After that, the preliminary budget for the reconstruction of the buildings was based on the estimated price of the designers, which amounted to 50 million euros. New headquarters project under public discussion
This year, new design proposals for the Bank of Lithuania in Žirmūnai will be presented at the public hearing. However, this will not be a project from the previous ones that participated in the competition, but a completely new one – prepared by “2L architects”. You can view previous competition works HERE.
The design proposals indicate that the construction work is planned to be carried out in phases. The main purpose of separating the phases is to ensure that cash handling activities are not disrupted during construction and to preserve the functioning of the data center.
"Two bank buildings are being reconstructed. In the main building, on the first floor, two separate central lobbies for employees and visitors, a conference center, a canteen, and cash desks for serving residents are planned."
Administrative premises are planned on the second floor. Cash is handled in the building. An auxiliary lobby, technical rooms, and a garage are planned on the first floor of the next building.

It is indicated that 377 bank employees will be able to work in all buildings at the same time. A storage room for 50 bicycles and 50 scooters is being designed. A conference center, a catering area - a canteen and workplaces are being designed in the reconstructed buildings. The conference center is planned to have 200 seats.
