The technology company GOSU Data Lab, which develops an artificial intelligence (AI)-based platform for e-sports enthusiasts and professionals, has chosen Lithuania for its main office. The company was founded in Moscow, but quickly joined other innovative game developers from the East who chose Vilnius. After moving a development team of nearly 10 people, GOSU plans to expand the team to 50 employees over the next couple of years by hiring local data scientists and programmers.
Lithuania was chosen by no means by chance, says one of the founders of GOSU, Alisa Čiumachenko, who has Lithuanian roots and has already moved her other company "Game Insight" to Vilnius.
"Our move to Lithuania will provide more opportunities for the local data science community," A. Ciumachenko is convinced. - The global AI market is still forming, and we believe that we can really contribute and help Lithuania to strengthen its position in it, as well as in the wider IT and game development markets."
As the company develops AI solutions, the core of GOSU's team consists of data scientists, mathematicians and engineers. As the company grows, it will look for specialists with a similar profile, as well as programmers with good knowledge of Python, JavaScript and Java languages.
The GOSU platform harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to help players analyze their past matches and figure out which skills they need to improve in order to achieve better results. In addition, it provides advice on which equipment set is best and which strategy can help defeat a particular enemy. The platform currently supports popular games like CS:GO, Dota 2, and PUBG, with more titles like Hearthstone and World of Tanks joining the list in 2019.
The platform provided by GOSU Data Lab is used by enthusiasts and professional players from more than 70 countries.
"Local and foreign capital companies operating in Lithuania develop artificial intelligence solutions in medicine, trade, driver behavior research and other fields. However, it is the gaming industry that is identified as the most promising and profitable market for developers of artificial intelligence solutions. GOSU's decision to establish itself in Lithuania will help not only to develop the competences of professionals in this industry in a new segment, but also to strengthen the country's game industry", says Economy Minister Virginijus Sinkevičius.
According to "Invest in Lithuania", General Director Mantas Katinas, strong artificial intelligence competences will help Lithuania to remain competitive in the technology market in the future.
"Already today, we see that companies based in Lithuania are applying the latest AI and machine learning methods in areas such as cyber security and medicine. "GOSU Data Lab will reveal the abilities of the same specialists in the field of game development - a niche in which Lithuania has opportunities to expand in the future," M. Katinas is convinced.
GOSU Data Lab was founded in 2017 and opened its platform this year. The company caught the attention of venture capitalists and gained their trust, raising $2,4 million to date. JAV dollar investment. Investors include companies such as Runa Capital, Ventech and Sistema VC.
