The first special center for remote cyber security exercises in Northern Europe will open its doors in Vilnius. This is provided for in the cooperation agreement signed yesterday, at the technology and innovation festival LOGIN, by Telia Lietuva and CyberGym, one of the global leaders in cyber defense solutions, according to a press release.
"Recent events, when more than 200 people were infected with a ransomware virus in a relatively short period of time. computers around the world, is forcing the business community to reassess whether sufficient attention is being paid to data and systems security. Seeing how rapidly cyberattacks are transforming, how their scale and damage are growing, we want to provide Lithuanian business with more prevention solutions", - Telia Lietuva manager Kęstutis Šliužas is quoted as saying in the press release.
"In the process of risk prevention, first of all, a good team is important, which has not only theoretical knowledge, but also knows how to act during one or another threat, is able to make appropriate decisions in real time, and work together. Such skills are best mastered with practice, but in Lithuania there have been no such level of exercises as organized by CyberGym until now," says the head of Telia Lietuva.
CyberGym specializes in cyber security training and exercises. The company's main clients are public and private companies in the financial, energy, manufacturing and other sectors. The exercises are adapted to the specific needs of the company, and during them, real situations are recreated - real programmers work, real hacking into systems is staged.
"Unfortunately, the reality is that the human factor still remains the weakest link in defense. Until your employees understand that corporate data security is not just a matter for IT professionals, your company's name will always be in the red zone. We want to help change that by starting a strategic partnership with Telia Lietuva and jointly establishing a cyber training center in Vilnius. We hope that this will be one of the largest competence centers of this type in Northern Europe", says Ofir Hason, one of the founders of CyberGym, the manager, who is visiting Lithuania.
CyberGym was co-founded by Israel Electric Corporation, Israel's largest electricity utility, and CyberControl, Israel's leading cyber security consultancy. CyberGym already has remote cyber security training centers in Europe in Prague and Lisbon, as well as in Israel and Australia.
The Center for Remote Cybersecurity Exercises in Vilnius will be located in Telia's premises on Vytenios Street. It is planned that the first exercises will take place here already in June.
