Vilnius airport an unconventional Christmas tree has been standing for a week, which was made by security personnel from items prohibited to be carried on the plane collected by passengers.
The Christmas tree is made of imitations of knives, bullet casings, scissors, various weapons or other prohibited items.
"The idea was to create this tree for a more inner circle of colleagues, but we believe that it has already been seen by a number of passengers waiting before the aviation security check. This is a great opportunity to remember that there are stricter rules for luggage at the airport," says V. Kšanas, Director of the Safety and Security Department of Lithuanian Airports.
"Most of the time, travelers carry gas canisters, but they cannot be carried either in hand luggage or in checked baggage. There are often sharp objects, knives with longer blades or even all kinds of imitation weapons, which also cannot be transported through the airport", V. Kšanas taught.
