To the sound of Piotr Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers, the first Christmas tree officially lit in the capital lit up the theater lobby, which had been darkened for a few minutes.
Stylist Mantas Petruškevičius's work on Thursday evening received excellent reviews from the audience - most of them did not miss the opportunity to capture the image against the background of the green scarf decorated with red ribbons, white candles and copper angels' trumpets.
"The idea of this Christmas tree was whispered by "Spragtukas" - a ballet performance that is shown every year during the holiday season and was watched for the first time by many Vilnius residents as children. Therefore, I tried so that the Christmas tree visible to the townspeople through the huge windows of the theater would remind everyone of the warm, cozy Christmas of their childhood," says M. Petruškevičius.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony traditionally ended with the performance of young dancers. And then, for the first time since last winter, the tunes of "The Nutcracker" sounded again in the Great Hall, and another one - a tree from a well-known performance - lit up on the stage...
According to the theater announcement, 6 performances of "The Nutcracker" are scheduled to be shown until January 15. In many of them, there is only one other free seat left in the audience hall.
