The Money Museum will offer visitors two new excursions - "What does the Bank of Lithuania do?" and "100 stories about the century of Lithuania".
Excursion "100 stories about the century of Lithuania"
The excursion is dedicated to celebrating the centenary of the restoration of Lithuanian statehood. Its participants will view the exhibition "Fragments of the History of the Republic of Lithuania 1918-1940" and will get to know the most important episodes of the history of the century of Lithuania. Visitors will also hear many stories about the creation of the Bank of Lithuania and the creation of the national currency. What was the name of the Lithuanian currency? What is depicted on interwar litas? How much did bank clerks earn a hundred years ago? These are just a few of the many topics that will be covered on this tour.
Excursion "What does the Bank of Lithuania do?"
How was the Bank of Lithuania established? Where did the gold reserves accumulated between the wars disappear? What are the most important functions of the Bank of Lithuania today? The past, present and future of the Bank of Lithuania. Participants of the tour will get to know the activities of the Bank of Lithuania in an interactive and playful way, understand the significance of this institution for Lithuania, and discover how the Bank of Lithuania can be useful to them.
