During the Olympic Festival "Beijing 2022" in the capital, near White bridge, a specially equipped ski track will start operating on February 5.
Also, from February 4 to 20, the meadow by the White Bridge in Vilnius will turn into a space for active winter sports entertainment. The two-and-a-half-week Olympic Festival "Beijing 2022" is planned here.
Dedicated to the Beijing Winter Olympics event Vilnius residents and guests of the city will be invited to get actively involved and try various winter sports themselves, including skiing, biathlon, duathlon, curling, ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, snow volleyball, etc. A special ski track will be set up for those who want to move on their own.
As the 700th anniversary approaches, a 700-year-old track will stretch across the meadow loved by the people of Vilnius.
There will be no shortage of events, and for runners who like orienteering sports, a Nordic walking tour will be organized - the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee and the Lithuanian Olympic Foundation, which organizes the Olympic Festival "Beijing 2022", have arranged a colorful program involving various activities.
The festival, which starts together with the Winter Olympic Games, will be held in Vilnius for three weekends in a row, during which many different entertainment and educational events are planned - there will be concerts, various classes, activities, and tournaments of different sports for both beginners and advanced players.
In the space by the White Bridge - in the Vilnius skating rink and next to it - there will also be an area suitable for children and families: various games, running for the little ones, sled pulling competitions, etc. are planned. a separate program is also prepared by professionals in their fields - visitors are invited to come and watch the programs of the exhibition show.
PROGRAMME (February 5):
- 10 o'clock - festive opening of the 700-meter cross-country skiing track.
- 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. – issuance of number and time recording sensors.
- 12:15 p.m. - Start (12 m) for small skiers (up to 700 years old) - FREE.
- 12:45 p.m. - Start (13 m) for schoolchildren (17-700 years old) - FREE.
- 13:15 p.m. – Family ski relay (1 person under 12 years (700 m) + 1 person over 12 years (1,4 km).
- 14:15 p.m. – Winter duathlon (3,5 km skiing + 3 km running).
- 15:15 p.m. - Super sprint.
- 16:00 p.m. - Awards - 16:00 p.m.
