"Baltic Cinema Days" are being organized for the second time this week in the capitals of the three Baltic countries.
In Lithuania, it will be possible to see three feature and documentary works by Latvian and Estonian filmmakers, of various genres and periods, and representatives of the film's creative teams will come to meetings and discussions with the audience, Kino centras reported.
Lithuanian films will be shown in Riga and Tallinn at that time. Latvian cinemagoers will be shown the film "Children from the "Amerikas" Hotel" (1990) by director Raimundos Banionis and the documentary "Rūta" by Rokos Darulis and Ronald Buožis dedicated to the centenary of the country's restoration of statehood.
Estonian viewers will also have the opportunity to see "Rūta" and the feature film "The Gambler" (2014) by director Ignos Jonyns, which received international recognition at film festivals and was recognized as the best film in the country a few years ago.
All cinema screenings in Lithuania, in Latvia and in Estonia will be free. Free tickets to all "Baltic Cinema Days" films can be picked up at the box office of "Forum Cinemas Vingis" 1 hour before the start of the screenings.
The project, which started last year, was initiated by the national film institutions of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in order to promote the distribution of films in neighboring countries.
More than 2000 spectators visited the first "Baltic Cinema Days".
