The festival, which has become an inseparable summer film tradition, "China under the stars" will celebrate its 15th birthday this year. July 29 - August 9 The jubilee event will be held in the courtyard of the Palace of Lords event will turn its gaze to the actors and invite them to celebrate their talent and admire the roles they created.
"When creating the festival, every year we look for new ways to talk about film art, we invite you to look at already recognized film works from a new perspective. This year, our gaze is directed at the actors - we admire them, we often choose films based on them, we identify with the characters created by them and even wish to be like them", says Andrė Balžekienė, the director of the "Kinas po žvaždinamis" festival.
The festival's film program is made by selecting iconic roles of extremely wide-ranging actors who have contributed to the history of cinema. "When creating this year's "Cinema under the stars" program, we wanted to invite the audience to pay attention to actors-chameleons of special talent, distinguished by their ability to immerse themselves in the role, to experience a physical, emotional, psychological transformation. We chose to present actors who are still creating, who never cease to amaze the audience as they "invent" themselves anew every time they are in front of the camera," says Giedrė Vyšniauskaitė, organizer of the "Cinema under the Stars" festival program.
From today until the unveiling of the program, which will take place on July 10, on the festival's social networks Facebook and Instagram, viewers will be invited to guess who are the actors who won recognition and the love of the audience, and the festival will give tickets to the chosen film of the program to the winners.
Choosing one thematic direction when presenting the program becomes a tradition of the "Cinema under the Stars" festival. In 2022, the film program consisted of 10 films that are constantly on the charts of must-see films, in 2023, the audience was invited to collect films representing the most prominent cinema movements, and this year, 2024, the festival will celebrate acting.
The open-air cinema festival "Cinema under the stars" will traditionally take place in the courtyard of the Palace of Lords. Spectators will be able to purchase the first tickets at a lower price on July 10-11. More information: www.kinaspozvaigzdemis.lt.
