In Vilnius, Orliński will perform with Aleksander Dębicz, one of the most versatile Polish pianists and composers. The essential points of support for this artist’s work are improvisation and his own original music, often combined with the works of old classical masters. For example, Dębicz’s album “Invention” (Warner Classics, 2018) features his own interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach’s inventions and symphonies, as well as Dębicz’s original works inspired by Bach and hip-hop. The artist is also not indifferent to film music – for a decade now, he has been creating music for films, radio dramas, and theater performances, and this is currently his main area of activity. The composer and pianist also actively collaborates with other artists and together creates artistic programs in which he combines classical music with improvisation. One of such artists is Orliński, with whom the artistic partnership began while still at university, and became especially active during the pandemic. Since 2020. They perform together and present unusual arrangements of Baroque music and original compositions.
The duo's goal is to present old music to a modern audience in an attractive way, preserving its beauty. Their latest project, "#LetsBaRock", is a collection of works by Baroque composers Georg Friedrich Händel, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell, Claudio Monteverdi and Francesco Nicola Fago, arranged by Dębicz and several of his own opuses. The artists shared about "#LetsBaRock": "We created something like covers of Baroque songs and arias. In our version, the Baroque works sound decidedly modern, but retain their character, although we changed some accents. For example, the piece "Oblivion", based on the aria "Oblivion soave" from Monteverdi's opera "The Coronation of Popeye", remains a kind of lullaby - but in our version it resembles a dreamy trance-style piece. "And "Vedro", based on Vivaldi's aria "Vedrò con mio diletto", with its cinematic sound emphasizes the drama of a man who cannot live without his beloved and may remind you of an epic film," the creators said.
