The alternative rock band "Garbanots", which has been in existence for more than a decade, invites everyone to gather under one roof and enjoy bright memories and enjoy cozy vibes. The concert will feature music from the album "Kūnas dangaus", and the group will perform in an unusual composition - together with a string quartet and harps.
Additional concert will be held on March 16 St. John's Church, Vilnius.
Already this weekend, at the Vilnius Book Fair, it will be possible to meet the artists live and buy tickets to a concert.
Presenting the vision of the concert, the group "Garbanots" says that it will vibrate the atmosphere of the evening with strings and will release its most beautiful songs from the depths of its heart to the sky, accompanied by violins, cellos and harps. "Reviving old cherished memories and interweaving them with today's life. What could be better? We invite everyone to gather in one place and spin, shine, fly, shout, travel and find their place in this colorful world", - this is the vision of the group "Garbanots" for the last performances.
The band's latest album entitled "Kūnas dangaus", released at the beginning of 2023, which will be played at the concert, is a delicate collection of musical works of the synthesis of light music and poetry. The songs on the album are nine stories about how bodies meet, separate, pull and push each other. The lyrics echo thoughts about the desire to learn to hear, listen and travel in this life in communion with others. The album, which already received a lot of attention from listeners and music professionals and reviewers in the first days of its release, features lyrics in Lithuanian by the band members Mantas and Šarūnas Joneikias, as well as by the poet of the young generation, Mariaus Luckas, and the classic of Lithuanian poetry, Paulius Širvis.
"I wanted to share all kinds of life events and stop them with songs. The album is made up of different stages of life. Some songs have been sitting in a drawer for several years, waiting for the day to reach the ears of listeners, while others were born this fall. Probably, out of longing and hope for the joy that will happen", says Š. John
In a little more than a decade, the collective released six studio albums, organized concerts for the presentation of these albums in major cities of Lithuania, and visited 13 foreign countries.
For their musical activities, the group won awards in Lithuania and beyond: Lithuanian T.Ė.T.Ė alternative music awards - "Rock Group of the Year" award (2013), MAMA awards - "Alternative of the Year" (2015), At the "Tallinn Music Week" festival in Estonia, the group was awarded the "Audience Favorite" (2016) award.
