In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of MK Čiurlionis, we invite you to special concerts in Vilnius, which will allow you to touch the atmosphere of the composer's era and experience what took place on May 1908, 17 in the hall of the current "Vaidila Theatre". Pianist and concert host, MK Čiurlionis' own great-grandson Rokas Zubovas, will tell how event took place back then, what challenges Čiurlionis himself faced while organizing it, what testimonies have survived about the concert guests, and what is mentioned in the reviews.
The program will be presented by two top-level ensembles: Vilnius Sacred Music Choir "Adoramus", celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and Vilnius Choir "Momentum" (choir artistic director Dr. Imantas Jonas Šimkus). After the concerts, the audience will be treated to a festive lottery and dancing, inviting them to feel the spirit of cultural evenings of that era.
