This time - with the world-famous elite British vocal ensemble VOCES8. in 2018 September 29 in the cozy St. Catherine's Church in Vilnius, Bel Canto choir (artistic director Egidijus Kaveckas) and one of the world's most popular vocal ensembles VOCES8 (artistic director Barnaby Smith) will present the third concert of the "Open to the World" cycle - an exceptional evening for gourmets of sensitive, aesthetic vocal music.
VOCES8 is a world-famous and dozens of prestigious awards-winning octet from the United Kingdom, known for its extremely sensitive, bright and elegant sound. The vocal ensemble harmoniously combines music of various styles and eras in its repertoire - from 18th century polyphonies to original jazz compositions and popular music arrangements.
VOCES8, represented by the legendary Decca Classics record label, regularly holds concerts in the world's most famous stages, such as Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Cité de la Musique Paris, Vienna Konzerthaus, Tokyo Opera City, National Center for the Performing Arts Beijing, etc.

VOCES8 will present the "Sing Joyfully" program to the Vilnius audience, which perfectly reveals the ensemble's passion for music of various musical styles, wonderful harmony of voices, musicality and stage elegance. In the sensitive, light, angelic voices of VOCES8 singers, works of renaissance, jazz, and popular music will be played.
The choir will present contemporary composers Eric Whitacre, Malcolm Dalglish, Stephen Paulus, etc. in the Bel Canto concert. creativity. The culmination of the evening is the premiere of the Lithuanian folk song "Stokitise ponoi" and the composer's work "Pater Noster" specially adapted for the concert by the vocal ensemble VOCES8 and choir "Bel Canto" by the Lithuanian composer Vaclav Augustin.
VOCES8 is also famous for its educational activities. The vocal ensemble is the main participant of the VCM Foundation, which promotes music education. VCM works with singers, choirs, pedagogues, conductors, conducts research, organizes master courses, leadership and music management programs.
Created and developed by VOCES8 founder Paul Smith, the special "VOCES8 method" encourages children's musicality, creativity and links it with other subjects taught in schools. The "VOCES8 method" has been translated into four world languages and is applied in many schools in Western Europe.

Bel Canto Choir's musical project "Open to the World" is a series of 5 concerts dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the State of Lithuania. At the Open to the World concerts, the Bel Canto choir will perform together with the world's most famous contemporary composers Eric Whitacre (USA) and Ola Gjeilo (USA/Norway), the best Swedish choirs Svanholm Singers and Sofia Vokalensemble, the elite vocal ensemble VOCES8 (UK) and the wonderful Swiss choir Männerstimmen Basel.
The goal of the project is to present the best in the world to the Lithuanian audience, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the State of Lithuania with them, to be, create, make music and improve together.
