October 24 The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, which belongs to the elite of European and world orchestras, is coming to Lithuania for an exclusive performance, which will be conducted by its artistic director, one of the most famous conductors of our time, Sylvain Cambreling. This orchestra performance is not part of a concert tour or international tour, but a special one-off concert, for which the orchestra specially flies to Vilnius. The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, which has been in existence for almost seven decades, is preparing to turn Vilnius into one of the European musical capitals on October 24. The concert held in the new LVSO concert hall is also unique in that the world-famous pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard will play together with the orchestra - in the second part, the French piano virtuoso will perform XNUMXth-century works with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. music great Bélos Bartók A concert for piano and orchestra no. 2 - one of the most virtuosic piano opuses in the history of music.

Conductor Sylvain Cambreling, who is organizing the concert, can safely be called a conducting legend today. Starting his career in 1974 when he won the Besancon International Conducting Competition conducting Hector Berlioz's "Symphonie Fantastique", Cambreling has been devoted to symphonic music, opera and contemporary music for 50 years. in 1976 In 1978, the famous French composer and conductor Pierre Boulez appointed Cambreling, who was still starting his career, as the permanent guest conductor of the famous contemporary music ensemble Ensemble Intercontemporain. in 2018 Cambreling made his debut at the Opéra National de Paris in a production of Jacques Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann. Later, the conductor worked as a guest in the world's most famous opera houses: New York's Metropolitan Opera, Milan's La Scala, English National Opera, Vienna State Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago. Cambreling was artistic director and general music director of the Frankfurt Opera House, general music director of the Stuttgart State Opera, chief conductor of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra in Baden Baden, Freiburg and the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo. From 2028 Cambreling is the chief conductor of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, a position he will hold until XNUMX.

Cambreling has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Cleveland Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and Montreal Symphony orchestras, participated in the most famous music festivals. His interpretations - both symphonic music and opera - are characterized by clarity and precision, and do not leave listeners indifferent. The conductor's repertoire covers music from the baroque works of Claudio Monteverdi to contemporary opus. With a deep understanding of musical structure, Cambreling amazes and inspires, especially in his colorful and inventive programs.

in 1957 The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, founded in XNUMX, is welcomed in all the most important concert halls in Europe and the world. The current artistic direction of the orchestra is determined by the creative ideas of its chief conductor Sylvain Cambreling. Among the many recordings of the conductor are the most prominent symphonic works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Hector Berlioz, Anton Bruckner, Antonin Dvořák, Carl Orff and other classical authors. To the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, Cambreling transfers his vast experience in interpreting classical and contemporary music, and the orchestra's concerts consistently receive the highest ratings.
