New half-year of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra: two festivals, stars and the premiere of a musical for children

After finishing the marathon of festive concerts, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, led by the artistic director and chief. conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius, starts a new half-year of concerts. In it, listeners will once again be able to choose from a wide range of concerts of various music - from Baltic orchestras to the LVSO summer festival, from chamber baroque to Mischa Maisky's cello passages, from the premiere of a new Lithuanian musical for children to "Carminas Buranos" in the open air. It seems that the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will finish the 29th season with a high quality.

A love song for the orchestra's birthday

For the orchestra's 29th birthday, maestro G. Rinkevičius and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra led by him prepared a special and very rarely performed piece - the impressive symphony "Turangalila" by the French composer O. Messiaen. 1945-1949 the piece written, called a love song by the composer himself, became one of the most significant works of the XNUMXth century. of music history works. Together with the orchestra, this piece will be performed by two soloists - pianist Alexander Paley, beloved by Lithuanian audiences, and Bruno Perrault, who plays Marten's waves.

The Baltic Orchestra Festival is back

After a two-year hiatus, the Baltic Orchestras Festival, organized by the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and maestro G. Rinkevičius, returns to the Vilnius Congress Palace, presenting symphony orchestras, famous soloists and works by national composers.

February 9 the festival will be opened by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by its artistic director and chief. conductor Andrios Poga. The orchestra will perform in the Vilnius Palace of Congresses together with the internationally recognized largest professional choir in the Baltic States.Latvija" and three soloists from the Baltic countries - Lithuanian soprano Vida Miknevičiūte, Latvian tenor Aleksandrs Antoņenko and Estonian folk music performer Mari Kalkun.

February 17 A special second festival of orchestras of the Baltic countries will be held for the centenary of Lithuania's independence concert "100 strings", which will surprise you with the abundance of strings and a special romantic program of works by MK Čiurlionis, A. Schoenberg and P. Tchaikovsky. Maestro G. Rinkevičius will conduct even a hundred string instruments of the Latvian National, Liepaja and Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestras, which have united their forces.

Baltic Orchestras Festival on March 2. will close with a concert dedicated to the presentation of Lithuania, during which one of the most famous Lithuanian pianists, Lukas Geniušas, together with his wife Anna Geniušienė and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by G. Rinkevičius, will perform piano concerts by WA Mozart and S. Prokofiev.

February 10 In the Vilnius Palace of Congresses, the little ones will be amazed by the incredible tricks of the "Amber" circus artists, who will organize their performance with the orchestra in the "Circus has arrived!" concert, which has already become a tradition. March 17 and 18 the audience will be waiting for the premiere - the children's musical "Benediktas and the Giraffe" by composer Laimis Vilkončias, in which actors Dominykas Vaitiekūnas, Aistė Lasytė, Gabrielia Kuodytė and pupils of the "Liepaičių" choral singing school will play the main roles.

Meanwhile, on February 14 The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will traditionally invite you to celebrate Valentine's Day together with the most beautiful love songs performed by Evelina Sašenko and Jeronimo Miliaus.

Chamber baroque and getting to know the artists of the orchestra

The beginning of spring will invite you to listen to baroque music - March 3. G. Ph. will perform in the chamber concert "Po baroko dangum" on the stage of the Vilnius Congress Palace. Works by Telemann, GF Händel, WA Mozart and JS Bach, performed by the primaries of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestra's artists will also be heard on April 27. In the "Orchestra Artistu Concert", eleven soloists of the Lithuanian State Orchestra will present nine works of the classical repertoire. From the XNUMXth century The Italian genius A. Vivaldi's "Winter" landscape for violin from the cycle "Seasons" to the contemporary Danish composer A. Koppel's musical passages for percussion - the orchestra's artists will be able to hear a multitude of rarely performed and particularly interesting symphonic works for violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe at the concert. , for clarinet, marimba and vibraphone, accompanied by a symphony orchestra.

Famous soloists will delight music connoisseurs

This half-year of concerts of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will also delight talented soloists. March 24 In the Vilnius Palace of Congresses, it will be possible to hear the Latvian violin prodigy - thirteen-year-old Daniilas Bulajevas, who will perform the famous J. Sibelius on stage a concert for violin and orchestra in D minor.

April 14 lovers of vocal art should mark their calendars, because the opera arias performed by baritone Kostas Smorigins and M. Mussorgsky's vocal cycle "Songs and Dances of Death", which is called a masterpiece of this genre, will be heard at the Vilnius Congress Palace.

April 20 the evening should appeal to everyone who is looking for a real spring refreshment for the soul - together with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the sounds of Joana Daunytė's harp will be heard on the stage of the Vilnius Congress Palace. J. Daunytė, who is called the ambassador of the Lithuanian harp, says that the music of the harp is particularly close to the human soul. "The sacredness and elation emitted by this instrument is related to our inner self, spiritual peace, warmth and coziness. There is also a lot of talk about the healing effect of the harp on a person, the therapy of harp sounds," said the famous musician.

At the end of the season - a world cello star

May 11 The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will close its 29th concert season together with the world-famous cello star Mischa Maisky. Dubbed the future Rostropovich at the age of 17, M. Maisky fulfilled these expectations in abundance. "His music combines poetry, refined subtlety, great temperament and impeccable technique," said maestro Mstislav Rostropovičius, whom M. Maisky calls not only a wonderful teacher, but also a second father.

The LVSO summer festival will start the summer

After finishing the season's concerts at the Vilnius Congress Palace, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will traditionally move to open spaces at the beginning of summer - the ninth LVSO summer festival will take place in June. June 1 In the courtyard of the Ministry of Interior (Šventaragio St. 2), the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will open the festival with C. Orff's magnificent stage cantata "Carmina Burana" - undoubtedly one of the most famous works of choral music in the world.
