One of the most popular projects "Susitikim", intended for older people, which started in the spring cheerfully with the "čiūto tūto" song, ends its 100 km walk along the most beautiful paths of Vilnius and today. m. June 27, 12.30:XNUMX p.m. will finish In the mountain park. During the event, the most enduring seniors who have covered the entire 100 km will be awarded.
This is the third consecutive year of the project, the goal of which is a healthy lifestyle, movement is important at any age. This project encourages older people to choose an active lifestyle, to form the habit of living healthy and to communicate as actively as possible. Therefore, the project invited active seniors to join the team and march all over Vilnius in 10 Tuesdays, marching 10 km each time.
"Together with the project participants and Active Vilnius organization, we have already completed the 100 km trail around Vilnius twice and proved by our example that age is not a limit. Therefore, this year we decided to diversify the hiking routes by including new 100 km trail tracks and together with the team we prepared undiscovered trails in Vilnius. The goal was achieved and exceeded by a margin. Our Tuesday hikes had twice as many seniors as in previous years. For the oldest senior citizens - after 80 years. It turns out that the need to move around peers is huge. It is both movement and communication that older people lack so much. This initiative also gave birth to our new initiative - "Let's Meet Travels" - this is, again, hikes on the feet of seniors in the mountains of Europe: Slovakian and Polish Tatras, or Czech and German Saxony", said Jelena Narūnienė, head of the "Let's Meet" project.
