This year, together with friends of the European Mobility Week, the Ministry of the Environment invites you to participate in different activities and listen to discussions in the wagon or take part in orienteering competitions.
On September 21, the Ministry of Environment together with Lithuania police implements a campaign during which in the largest cities of Lithuania - Vilnius, Beautiful, in Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Klaipėda - drivers will be stopped and invited to travel in environmentally friendly ways. During the campaign, the municipality will give one-time gifts public transport tickets and invites to celebrate Car Free Day by choosing public transport, which will be free on September 22 in Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevėžys and Šiauliai.
On September 22, Vilnius residents and guests of the city are invited to orienteering competitions organized by Vilnius public transport and Vilnius 700th anniversary team. During the orienteering competition, the teams will visit the most important spaces of the city using maps and various directions and will compete to see all the specified objects the fastest. This is a great opportunity not only to get to know the city better, but also to contribute to sustainable movement. The three best performing teams will be awarded prizes established by the organizers. We invite everyone who wants to choose at 13:15 p.m. at the address Žolyno st. XNUMX.
Also on September 22 at 15:30 p.m. The Ministry of Environment and the Lithuanian Railways are organizing a discussion on the train on the Vilnius-Kaunas route. During the trip, Vlada Musvydaitė, the founder of the start-up "Walk15", will share her personal experience, what motivated her to take an interest in sustainable mobility topics, what is needed in Lithuania for residents to give up cars, and what measures motivate residents and users to shape their daily habits in a more environmentally friendly direction.
On September 23, the Ministry of the Environment will host the European Mobility Week's most active competition awards, during which the most active of the week will be congratulated: school, kindergarten, institution, business and municipality. Sustainable mobility specialist Jonas Simutis will discuss sustainable mobility in Lithuania with the participants of the event.
