Friday and Saturday Contemporary Art Center, waking up after reconstruction becomes a stage for fashion! On "Fashion Infections" Collections by Lithuanian and foreign designers will be presented on a 210-meter podium, and the gathered fashionistas will be treated to manifestos and mirages - fashion stories born from personal experiences, world chaos, and creative freedom.
The CAC will kick off the first night of the festival with a special guest returning from the Netherlands for "Fashion Infection". POViSHe will boldly renounce the marketing facade and share a collection in which the most important therapeutic sound is the purring of a cat. The designer's collection will tell the story of the search for meaning in the corporate world and a silent gesture of love for oneself.
Designer Kristina Kruopienytė will invite you to wander through the labyrinths of memory. "Vestigium" is a dreamlike transformation of reality, where architectural silhouettes merge with barely perceptible echoes of the past. Serena Coelho from Denmark, will present the collection "Archeon" in Vilnius, which speaks of sustainability, transience and resource ethics. "This is the archaeology of the future, seeking harmony between man, nature and the cyclical nature of materials," says Serena.
A young generation artist who secured her place at the festival after winning the "Injection" competition – Berthemilia will unmask the grimace of artificial authenticity on the catwalk, a collection inspired by self-love and inner emptiness, where beauty will become a weapon, and questions will be more important than answers.
Having debuted in "Fashion Infection" last year Ula Aleksandravičiūtė will return with his latest work, "Solartopians," in which the world collapses but man is reborn. It is a utopian vision of a harmonious relationship between nature and man, who has survived the storm.
Domantas Šmaižys, coming from Copenhagen, will turn the podium into an emotional manifesto – glamour, shadows, theatre and truth will spread in his latest collection. “I create a reality where dreams and reality intertwine. I am looking for a path – between light and shadows, between dreams and struggle. This collection is a reflection of my present – an intermediate state between what was and what is yet to become. It is a reflection of an industry where art turns into a struggle and creation into a manifesto. But fighting for your place also means celebrating – celebrating creativity, courage, self-belief,” says the designer.
On the evening of May 23rd, the Contemporary Art Center will also focus on the sounds of music that will be created Martin Baranauskas – an electronic music creator who has himself walked the podium of “Fashion Infection” more than once. His sets intertwine downtempo, ambient, techno and even echoes of Lithuanian poetry – deep and precise.
Second Day Without Borders – Identity, Illusion, and Sound Rituals
The second day of the "Fashion Infection" festival, without borders, will invite you to performances in which reality is reconstructed and style is liberated.
Coming from Poland Arcanum Aura will invite you to take a look at his works, which will transform reality – and maybe you too? Designer Ready Paula with her latest collection "Weather Forecast" will tell a story about femininity, where strength and fragility change like the elements. "The design focuses on timeless aesthetics: clear lines, precise constructions and minimalism are combined with meticulous handwork. Strong, heavy dark shapes contrast with ephemeral, wavy details and transparent fabrics decorated with lace," says Reda Paula.
Raimed Latvia will propose to renounce the rules with the collection "Never Make This Style Mistake" - here fashion will become a weapon against mass opinion and internal self-censorship. Sandra Straukaite will decipher the world through the code of images and sensations and will calm everyone down, because after all - "Everything will be fine"!
Diana Paukstyte will return to the renovated CAC with a mystical collection for women who are not afraid of darkness, emotional surges and style as a confession. “The new clothing collection is designed for a gentle but strong woman who draws energy from mysterious depths. This woman has the royal courage to accept the full range of emotions. She chooses to feel, empower and express herself through creativity, through the search for a unique style. Black color, abundance of details, layering, draping, asymmetry and lace enchant with their mysticism and give dramatic strength,” says the designer. Of Lithuanian origin, living and working in Dubai Mervyn Davids will invite to sci-fi an adventure with "Operation Romulus" - a collection that will blur the boundaries between imagination and reality, and the podium will become like another planet.
When reality vibrates from the tissues, sound will enter the space. On Saturday evening, at the invitation of Sandra Straukaitė, one of the most prominent contemporary sound artists will fly from Paris - Tarek AtouiThe Lebanese-born, world-renowned electroacoustic music creator will play a special live set, dedicated only to this evening, in which form and sound, body and sensation will merge.
