An initiative of the Architecture Foundation - Experiment Platform, which creates opportunities for architectural creators to develop their ideas and practices with the help of mentors, will present the final event with a rich program this Saturday (October 28). Event will be held in the cultural complex SODAS 2123, participation is open and free.
The participants of the third season of the Experiments Platform: Eglė Kliučinskaitė, Vika Pranaitytė, Magdalena Beliavska and Ervinas Blažys reflect on the practices of environmental monitoring and introspection from various perspectives in individual projects. The discoveries of these young creators are based on experiments, untested methods and tests, overcome together with a team of mentors from the European LINA platform who worked together for five months: Tevi Allan Ston Mensah, an architect and visual artist living in France and a member, architect and researcher of the Palace of Un/Learning Max Utech. The TAAT art collective and Aiste Ambrazevičiūte, a creator of digital art and an architect practicing experimental architecture, also joined the team of mentors.
During the final event, Gabrielė Černiavskaja, the curator of the Experiment Platform, will invite the mentor to a discussion about experiments and the topic of observation that connects them, which is especially relevant when thinking about how we perceive space, "use" it, and what expressions of ecological sustainability we can discover in architecture if we actively look. The participants of the Experiments Platform "XANTHO" from previous seasons, who are forming an experiential route of modern pilgrimage through the existing urban landscapes, and the creators of "Neo-futuristic walks" Goda Verikaitė and Aušra Česnauskytė, who are traveling to different European and American cities, will also join the discussion. The audience is also waiting for a lecture by Martin Born, a curator and space explorer living in Helsinki.
The curator of the experiment platform emphasizes that it is important for this project to open the field of architecture to creators from other disciplines, to provide a comfortable platform for new, unexpected views. These goals are reflected in the projects of this year's selected participants. In the project "Posters as catalysts of architecture", Ervinas Blažys delves into the temporary world of paper posters, recording their ever-changing existence as an urban layer, created and changed by non-architects. Magdalena Beliavska, presenting sleeping spaces as non-traditional platforms for thoughts and discussions, invites you to the kingdom of sleep with her project "Room to dream", where the boundaries between the physical and metaphysical worlds disappear, and sleep turns into a unique architectural experience. Eglė Kliučinskaitė focuses on the slow decay of spaces and reimagines their future in the "Redefining the Existing" project. In the lens of the creator, directed at the architecture of Lithuanian socialism, its remains and possible histories come to life. Meanwhile, Vika Pranaitytė, who explores the abandoned corners of the outskirts of Kaunas in the project "Melancholy spaces", invites you to a melancholic journey, where abandoned spaces are wrapped in an experimental tapestry of melancholy. Learn more about these projects at the final event of the Experiments Platform.
The event starts at 13:13 p.m., a conversation with mentors at 30:15 p.m., presentations by participants of the experiment platform at 17:17 p.m. - 2123:23 p.m. and a discussion from XNUMX p.m. Address: cultural complex SODAS XNUMX, Vitebsko str. XNUMX, Vilnius.
