This year, the Lithuanian Children and Youth Center will delight children and their parents with the premiere of the musical "The Missing Connection". "The Missing Connection" is a contemporary, musical, theater and dance story interwoven with the everyday life of children, also known as Generation Z. About the Internet that suddenly disappeared and the search for a live communication link between very different children from the same yard.
The initiator, composer and artistic director of the musical, Vaiva Kriščiokaitytė, says that the idea of creating a musical arose back in the spring, considering what such an extraordinary thing she would like to implement in the new school year together with her students. Moved and inspired by the works of foreign authors, she decided to create a musical that would be relevant for modern children and their parents. "In which the music, the libretto and the directing decisions would allow every viewer to easily discover and identify with one or even several characters," V. Kriščiokaitytė opens up and adds, "such a musical that would talk about the problems of today's relationship between children and parents through the prism of humor." .
The idea of the musical was supported by other leaders of the Lithuanian children and youth center groups together with their pupils. Among them - director, choreographer - Justina Kaminskaitė, break dance choreographer - Jevgenij Kirjanov, and, of course, the author of the musical script and original libretto - Birutė Pernaravičiūtė. According to B. Pernaravičiūtė, one of the biggest challenges when creating the libretto was the realistic rendering of the children's worldview. It was necessary to get to know the children's terminology better, the actualities of their everyday life, leaving the school aspects behind the scenes and bringing their leisure habits, communication and even bullying problems to the stage. Anyway, the initiators of the musical unanimously claim that the results are already pleasing, and the young performers are eager to show their artistic talents and reveal a plot so close to them.
The premiere of "Missing Connection" will take place on December 8. (Thursday), 17:30 p.m. LVJC (Konstitucijos pr. 25, Vilnius). Everyone who is interested in the work of young talents, a modern, intriguing plot... the search for the missing connection between the Internet and children's living communication is welcome.
