July 6 is not only the day of the crowning of the State, Mindaugas, but also the National Anthem.
On July 2009, 6, commemorating the millennium of Lithuania's name, the Lithuanians of the world sang the national anthem of Lithuania "Tautiška giesmė" for the first time at the same time all over the world at the initiative of the "Millennium Odyssey". The idea of showing the unity of Lithuanians all over the world in this way found a wide resonance and strong support in the society. in 2019 April 26 the name of the state holiday July 6 was changed once again, and another intention was given to this day, meaning the unity of Lithuanians around the world. By amending the Labor Code of the Republic of Lithuania, the new name of this state holiday was established: "July 6th - the Day of the State (of the coronation of King Mindaugas of Lithuania) and the National Anthem."
