St. Kazimierz, the second son of the Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland Kazimierz Jogailaitis and Elžbieta Habsburgaitė, was born in Krakow. He was brought up as the future king of Lithuania and Poland and was distinguished by the traits of a great ruler - wisdom, justice, courage, but also piety, avoiding luxury, caring for the poor. He died of tuberculosis at the age of 25. Soon the king began to be called a saint, believers began to tell about the miracles that happened through his intercession.
