On May 31, on the eve of the Children's Day, the Lithuanian Children and Youth Center together with its partners organizes the holiday "My summer is safe" for children, parents and teachers. On this day, LVJC will host a large number of active, creative, educational activities and meetings with representatives of professions that ensure safety, organizers of children's summer camps, and a conference "Safety Guarantee. Who can give it?'
The holiday is organized in order to remind the public about children's right to safe and meaningful summer recreation, its importance for the growth of a young personality.
"Children's natural need to know never goes on vacation. In the summer, it is a great opportunity for children to try different activities for which there was a lack of time during the school year", Vilma Smaliukienė, the organizer of this event, shares her observations. According to V. Smaliukienė, it depends on us, the adults, whether there will be opportunities to safely develop children's values, personal and health skills, and social abilities in the summer. Not only parents should be responsible for the continuous development of children, but also the whole conscious community, that is, those persons who realize their responsibility for children's safe environment, V. Smaliukienė teaches.
About the program of the event
The celebration will begin with the promotion "Vilnius striksi" (11.00:XNUMX a.m.), during which participants of the event or curious passers-by will jump with jump ropes. All the possibilities of this healthy activity will be revealed by non-formal education teacher Kęstutis Autukas, who is ready to prove that jumping is not only a good way to warm up before active activities, but also a very fun and healthy exercise.
During the celebration, there will be many creative workshops, relay and live table football tournaments, bungee jumping and balloon championships, lindy hop, hip hop, other dance styles and a giant soap bubble show.
The officials of the Vilnius County Fire Rescue Board will organize several activities: in the LVJC pool, they will demonstrate how divers rescue drowning people and tell about the importance of safe behavior in and around water; will present how the GPIS system works to warn of impending natural disasters and major disasters; will demonstrate firefighting equipment; will show how people are freed from a wrecked car with the available hydraulic rescue equipment and will help you imagine how a fast and comfortable car can become a pile of metal that prevents you from escaping if you don't follow the safety rules.
The officers of the Chief Police Commissariat of Vilnius County together with the puppy Amsius will talk about their work, advise how to act in the event of a threat to protect themselves and their friends.
During the celebration, a camp fair will be held, where children and their parents will be able to communicate with camp organizers. There will also be a conference for educational specialists "Safety guarantee. Who can provide it?", aiming to draw the public's attention to the safety of children and young people during the summer. During the conference, speakers will share their experience in carrying out preventive programs for children's safe behavior in water and near water, and will present the principles of drowning rescue and first aid to a drowning person.
At the end of the day, all the participants of the festival will be invited to a picnic - to relax, listen to fun music and get stronger with outdoor grilled sausages and self-brought sandwiches.
