The Baltic food and beverage exhibition BAF 2017 and the responsible consumption, organic goods and services exhibition-forum EKO LOGIKA 2017 ended on Saturday. For three days, visitors tasted the most interesting food products, watched the performances of famous chefs and could choose from an abundance of organic products. During the event, the best of the capital was also awarded restaurant – the star of "Vilnius Gastronomy Week".
This year, more than 10 visitors were received at both exhibitions. visitors. The organizers are also happy with the large number of participants - the 7th BAF exhibition brought together 80 representatives of various companies, and almost a third of them came from abroad. Already held for the fourth time event EKO LOGIKA attracted 25 companies. Both exhibitions opened their doors in renovated modern "Litexpo" in the first palace, almost 3 thousand were allocated to them. square meter area.
"Exhibitions have attracted a large number of visitors who value exclusivity, high-quality, healthy, niche food. The participants gathered here offered them unique, never-before-seen and never-tasted products. We notice that every year the exhibition becomes more and more attractive to participants from abroad, so next year we can expect an even greater number of their stands, a wider variety of countries," says Lilijana Dirsienė, project manager of Litexpo.
The best restaurant was selected
Visitors gathered at the Baltic Food and Beverage Exhibition BAF tried new flavors of food and beverages. They watched the improvisations of Gian Luca Demarco, Ali Gadzhijev, Iglif Di Giacomo and other chefs in the interactive culinary space - KITCHEN STUDIO.
The best restaurant of the "Vilnius Gastronomy Week" was awarded here for the first time. Among the 26 restaurants, "Amandus" impressed the visitors the most. The event was organized by the "Litexpo" exhibition and congress center, the Lithuanian Hotel and Restaurant Association, the Lithuanian Association of Chief Chefs and Pastry Chefs and the "Skonis.lt" portal, where fierce elections took place.
Throughout the week, residents of Vilnius and guests of the city visited the restaurants participating in the "Vilnius Gastronomy Week". They tasted different dishes specially prepared for this event, enjoyed the variety of flavors, service and atmosphere and chose their favorites.
The most recognized restaurant "Amandus" manager and chef Deivydas Praspaliauskas is happy with the visitors' evaluation and says that it is very important for him and the entire team. "We opened just four months ago, so this award is a great encouragement, proof that we are a cohesive team and can achieve good results. When creating the menu, I tried to ensure that the dishes were good, high-quality and had additional value - they were made from Lithuanian products", D. Praspaliauskas did not hide his smile.
Packaging is especially important
This year, product packaging became an important highlight of the BAF exhibition, which received a lot of attention. The largest conference dedicated to this topic in Lithuania took place at the event - PACKAGING SECTOR 2017.
The winners of two competitions were also announced during the exhibition. As many as 2017 companies were recognized as "Leaders of the Packaging Sector 15" in six categories, and 19 of the most beautiful packages won different nominations at the National Packaging Design Awards (NAPA).
