One of the most popular projects for the elderly, "Susitikim", invites seniors to hike along the most beautiful sightseeing trails in Vilnius. The organizers of the project and its participants have already covered the 100 km trail around Vilnius twice. The first walk will take place on April 25 at 10 am. The meeting place is Bernardinai Sodo beach, located at the foot of Bekeš mountain.
The "Susitikim" project joins the LRT initiative "Singing Europe" and will start the marches by singing the phrase "čiūto tūto" from Monika Linkytė's Eurovision song. "Community and the power of unity, which includes dancing, singing or marching together, are very necessary for each of us, so our seniors willingly join similar initiatives, which, by the way, are becoming a tradition - a couple of years ago we raised the "Yellow Wave" by escorting the group "The Roop", said project manager Jelena Narūnienė.
"Together with the project participants and Active Vilnius organization, we have already completed the 100 km trail around Vilnius twice and proved by our example that age is not a limit. Therefore, this year we have decided to diversify the hiking routes by including new 100 km trails, and together with the team we are preparing and checking yet undiscovered trails in Vilnius. The concept of the project remains the same - ten Tuesdays, 10 km each, and the result - the entire 100 km of Vilnius trails are walked by seniors. For those who wish, we will give them the opportunity to hike with Nordic poles. Our goal is to encourage older people to choose an active lifestyle, to form the habit of healthy living and to communicate as actively as possible. We notice that especially after winter, the participants of our project miss communication and being together. Therefore, we warmly invite everyone to join our cool company, to get to know the awakening beauty of Vilnius together and to be inspired by nature", - project manager Jelena Narūnienė shared the upcoming plans of the "Susitikim" project.
Registration takes place by phone - 8 603 36 266 or e-mail. by post [email protected]. Participation in the hikes is free.
